ITINERARY DETAILS : Desert tour Merzouga 3 days
3 days to Sahara desert, starting from Marrakech through the high Atlas range via Tichka pass to Ait Benhaddou, Gorges of Todgha, Dadès valley, then the route leads to the small Saharanoasis of Merzouga, is famous for its location at the foot of the Erg Chebbi Dunes, these photogenic dunes,which rise up out of the stony, sandy desert, extend for 30 km, and reach a maximum height of (250m). At sunrise or dusk the half-light gives the sand a fascinating range of colors.
Day 1 : Depart from Marrakech, A/C transportation. Drive towards the South of Morocco over the Atlas mountains, enjoying the magnificent views from the TICHKA pass (2260m) visit the AIT BENHADDOU Kasbah and lunch break, we continue to Ouarzazate then roses valley our hotel will be in Dades valley.
Day 2 : The next day we continue along the Dades valley and then along a nomadic-occupaying territory where you can see tentes of nomades with thier flocks. we arrive at the foot hill TINGHIR and enjoy a visit to Todra Gorges. here we can stop for lunch. we continue to Merzouga passing by TINJDAD, ERFOUD ( the capital of dattes) and then RISANI. this old village on the cross road of the caravan root will intrigue you. At Merzouga we explore the village and meet our Camels who will take us for 1h and half into the Dunes to reach our camp at Erg Chebbi, enjoy the sunset over the landscape from the top of the highest Dunes. hot mint tea and we spend the evening under the stars, you can fully appreciate the glory of the skies above and sleep inside the Nomadic tentes.
Day 3 : Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise, 1h30 camel ride head back to Merzouga, have breakfast and have the opportunity to take shower and then we begin our journey through the stony desert and over the Atlas mountains, with stops for photos on the return to Marrakech. The usual arrival time in Marrakech is between 17:00hrs and 18:00hrs.
